Continuano in tutto il mondo i sequestri di droga, spia di una enorme e nascosto traffico illegale di sostanze stupefacenti.

Le navi di pattuglia statunitensi USS Tempest e USS Typhoon confiscano droghe illegali a bordo di una nave nelle acque internazionali del Mar Arabico. La polizia del Montenegro sequestra 1 tonnellata di cocaina nascosta in una spedizione di banane. Anche a Malta la polizia trova pacchetti contenenti cocaina nascosti in scatole di banane, un sequestro record per la piccola nazione insulare del Mediterraneo.

La polizia croata sequestra più di mezza tonnellata di cocaina nel porto di Ploce, vicino a Dubrovnik. Agenti della polizia bavarese distruggono 1,5 tonnellate di cocaina pronte per il trasporto in Germania, la più grande operazione di distruzione di droga nella storia della polizia bavarese. Notizie simili arrivano anche da Portogallo, Hong Kong, Paraguay, Thailandia e si potrebbe continuare a lungo.
