È sorprendente il divario tra i grandi principi proclamati e il non tener conto della fame e del freddo cui sono esposti esseri umani ai confini dell’Unione».

Se l’Europa è il finanziamento diretto o indiretto dei lager e dei negrieri di Libia. Se l’Europa è l’intrico balcanico di recinti, campi minati e miliziani picchiatori. Se l’Europa è i fucili spianati di Ceuta e Melilla. Se l’Europa è le “giungle” di Calais. Se l’Europa sono gli eserciti schierati ai confini orientali e i poveri in mezzo. Se questa è l’Europa, l’Europa è imbelle, incrudelita e tradita. E noi non possiamo più dirci europei. Eppure europei, una buona volta, dobbiamo deciderci a essere».
