È stato inaugurato il 15 marzo il nuovo quartiere di Manhattan che modifica lo skyline newyorkese e che diventa la meta top dove andare d’ora in poi. È composto dalla struttura totemica di rame “The Vessel”, dallo shopping center Neiman Marcus e dal performing art center The Shed, oltre a spazi residenziali, giardini, piazze, l’Hudson Yards Observation Deck (l’osservatorio all’esterno più alto di New York) e il lussuoso hotel Equinox. Si tratta del più grande sviluppo immobiliare della storia degli Stati Uniti dopo il Rockefeller Center, del valore complessivo di 25 miliardi di dollari, volto ad incrementare lo sviluppo urbano lungo il fiume Hudson.
